Internship DetailsAn internship at the Hildebrand Equine Complex offers an opportunity to develop event management skills in several areas. As an intern you will have the opportunity to -
* Work with University and private groups *Be responsible for scheduling events, filing event details and entering them into the database * Assist in planning banquets, meetings, workshops, and retreats * Meet with potential clients and show them the complex's event spaces *Give tours of the entire facility * Help develop marketing material and customer satisfaction surveys *Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with clients, complex guests, other staff members * Duties while working an event include regularly checking in with the event organizer, helping take-out trash, making sure complex (event spaces) stay clean and tidy, helping event organizer with any needs, working with catering, etc. *Being flexible and easily adaptable to change |
Internship Requirements* Students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
* A strong interest in event management (No Equine experience required) * Responsible and self-motivated with the ability to work in a supervised and unsupervised environment * Communication Skills (feel comfortable talking to groups of people) * Ability to work some nights and weekends * Computer experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Event Management Software (EMS) * Having some experience with Audio Visual technology would be a plus |
Benefits
As an intern at the Hildebrand Equine Complex you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with faculty and staff from Texas A&M University, including Deans of Colleges. You will also have the opportunity to meet CEOs and Presidents of outside organizations and help their personal event organizer plan their conference(s) and special events. On top of that you will also have the opportunity to apply the skills you have learned from classwork to real life situations, problem solve and learn how to handle difficult situations. The intern position at the complex is a paid position.
